Hi, I’ve received the airpod but it won’t connect to my other one and keeps saying that they are mismatched, I’ve tried to do what google says and charge them together etc but nothing seems to work. Whilst searching it says they could be still connected to a previous owners find my/Apple ID… just checking that this is not the case? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The issue happens because basically your existing Airpods items think the new item belongs to a different set and is looking for the old item that is not there anymore. The two earbuds are paired to each other as well as the case. To fix the issue you have to teach your Airpods to accept the new item a as part of the set and stop looking for the old item.
This video shows one way of doing that, which works most of the time:

However it does not work on all the variations of the Airpods so if you search YouTube or Google, you will find other pairing processes to try.
You may also have to try the process a few times to get it to work.
